MLS: Quakes expected to name Yallop head coach

With just three days before the MLS SuperDraft, the San Jose Earthquakes have called a press conference for 2 pm PT Friday. They are expected to announce D.C. United assistant coach Frank Yallop as their new head coach, replacing Lothar Osiander, who was let go at the beginning of the year. Yallop, 36, was the Tampa Bay Mutiny's assistant in 1999 and United's assistant in 2000. He played three years for the Mutiny after a long career in England with Ipswich and Blackpool. He is the first Canadian to be named the head coach of an MLS team. He had 52 caps for Canada.
