Boys' U-20s tie Jamaica in CONCACAF qualifying warmup

In its final international warmup before the CONCACAF U-20 qualifying tournament, the U.S. U-20s tied Jamaica 1-1 in Florida. Ryan Futagaki scored the lone American goal on a 78th-minute penalty. The Americans are set to depart for Port-of-Spain, Trinidad next week. They will face Costa Rica (Aug. 5), Canada (Aug. 7) and Trinidad & Tobago (Aug. 9) in qualifying for the 1999 World Youth Championship in Nigeria. The top two teams from the group will advance.
