1. Duke finally beats Alabama A&M

Duke, ranked No. 2 in the Soccer America Men's Top 25, beat Alabama A&M for the first time in four meetings, downing the Bulldogs, 4-1, in a game played in a steady rain on Tuesday night.
A&M is not the program it was in the early 1980s when it beat Duke three times, but it countered the Blue Devils' opening goal with a goal of its own from MfanaFuthi "Taribo" Bhembe. Sandwiched around the Swazi's goal were goals by Tomek Charowski and Pavelid Castaneda -- the first of the season for both players -- to make it three goals in 123 seconds. Duke put the game away with goals from Spencer Wadsworth and Mike Grella in the second half.
Blue Devil coach John Rennie will attempt to set the ACC coaching record for most wins in conference play on Friday when Duke hosts No. 9 North Carolina. Rennie is tied with former Clemson coach I.M. Ibrahim for ACC wins (90) and recently passed Ibrahim for the most overall wins at an ACC school. Rennie now has 393. With Tuesday's win, Rennie is also tied for fifth all-time in Division I with 436 wins.
#4 VIRGINIA-LONGWOOD (PPD). Implement weather, which plagued action all across the Mid-Atlantic, forced the cancellation of the non-conference match.
DAVIDSON 2 #19 VIRGINIA TECH 4. The Hokies won their first straight game, getting goals from usual suspects Patrick Nyarko (13th of the season), Marcus Reed and Ben Nason, but it was Kevin McFadden's first score of the season that sparked them when they needed it most. McFadden, who has missed much of the season due to a bout with mono, came off the bench to give Tech a 2-1 lead in the 45th minute.
#23 LEHIGH 4 PHILADELPHIA 0. The Mountain Hawks (12-1-1) pushed its record-breaking unbeaten streak to 12 games. Senior Jim Morahan tied the single-season shutout mark of 10 that Sam Bishop set in 2003.
HOLY CROSS 2 #25 HARVARD 5. The high-scoring Crimson collected its fifth straight victory. Freshman sensation Andre Akpan led the attack with two goals and one assist to give him eight goals and 11 assists in 14 games. After Harvard jumped out to a 3-0 lead, Crusader star Josh Trott temporarily gave hope to the Worcester faithful with two goals in 25 seconds.
