UAB handed No. 1 SMU its first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night before what is believed to be a record crowd of 2,755 fans at West Campus field.

Mike Getman said. "I don't know if a group of players could execute it any better."
The
Blazers are only 8-6-2, but they have had several big wins. They've also beaten No. 8 Notre Dame, UNC Greensboro, the Southern regular-season champion, and Stetson, which went unbeaten en route to
the Atlantic Sun regular-season title.
