The following is the 18-man roster named by U.S. coach Steve Sampson for the World Cup qualifier against Guatemala this Sunday at RFK Stadium.
Goalkeepers -- Brad Friedel, Kasey Keller.
Defenders -- Jeff Agoos, Mike Burns, Paul Caligiuri, Thomas Dooley, Frankie Hejduk, Alexi Lalas.
Midfielders -- John Harkes, Preki, Tab Ramos, Claudio Reyna, Mike Sorber.
Forwards -- Cobi Jones, Brian McBride, Joe-Max Moore, Ernie Stewart, Eric Wynalda.
Goalkeeper Kasey Keller will get the starting nod for the Guatemala match, according to Sampson.
"We have two of the best goalkeepers in the world," the U.S. coach said. "This has been one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make."
Sampson said the decision was based on the way Keller performed last week, when he notched the shutout in Leicester City's 2-0 victory over Premier League giant Newcastle United.
Midfielder Jason Kreis will undergo surgery on Friday in Dallas to remove a bone chip in his left elbow. The chip is the result of a dislocation he suffered in MLS action six weeks ago. The Dallas star will be sidelined 10-14 days, and will be recalled into the national team upon recovery. Kreis had been training with the national team since last Thursday.
