All of the Del Mar teams are heading for home, as are Columbus, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay. New England and the MetroStars will remain in Boca Raton for another week.
The MetroStars earned their first victory of the spring when they edged New England 2-1 March 20 in Boca Raton.
Giovanni Savarrese, the MetroStars Venezuelan striker, opened the scoring in the 35th minute, but the Revolution drew even in the second half, when Alexi Lalas headed home a cross from Brazilian midfielder Welton. Peter Vermes scored the winner off of a 40-yard cross from Mickey Kydes.

Two days later, New England drew 2-2 with the Columbus Crew.
Revolution forward Giuseppe Galderisi celebrated his 33rd birthday by netting two goals for New England. This was Galderisi's first spring training start due to a sprained knee.
Yari Allnutt, bothered by a strained hamstring for most of camp, saw his first action for New England and assisted on Galderisi's first goal.
Former Syracuse midfielder Paul Young struck first for Columbus, and Pete Marino scored his second unassisted goal of the spring for the final equalizer.

Pete Marino and Vitalis "Digital" Takawira continued their scoring ways when Kansas City and Columbus drew 1-1 on March 24.
Marino's strike was his second goal in as many days for Columbus. The Crew started David Winner in goal. Winner had been called up to the squad because of a hand injury to keeper Kevin East.
With forward Frank Klopas resting, Kansas City relied on Takawira for offense, and the Zimbabwe native did not disappoint, equalizing in the 67th minute.

All five teams training in Del Mar, Calif. played matches on March 23. Perhaps the most hotly contested was a 2-2 draw between Colorado and San Jose.
Colorado's Richard Sharpe scored the quickest goal in the young history of MLS when he ran onto a through ball from Jean Harbor and beat Clash keeper Dave Salzwedel to the right post just 27 seconds into the match.
Paul Bravo equalized for San Jose, but the Rapids jumped in front again when Steve Trittschuh headed in a Felipe Rodriguez corner kick in the 19th minute.
San Jose's Eric Wynalda, who did not start due to a minor groin strain, entered midway through the second half and tied the match on a penalty kick after Colorado's Denis Hamlett dragged him down in the box.

Washington and Los Angeles drew 1-1 in a well-played match March 23.
Powerful Galaxy forward Eduardo "El Tanque" Hurtado opened the scoring in the 19th minute when he blew through United's defense to pounce on a through ball from midfielder Mauricio Cienfuegos and beat keeper Jeff Causey to the right from 16 yards.
Washington answered through Richie Williams, who scored a one-touch goal off of Mario Gori's cross eleven minutes later.
Both teams had several good oppportunities to win -- Cienfuegos narrowly missed on a bending free kick in the 53rd minute, and Galaxy teammate Garfield Shaw was denied by the post in the 75th. Washington's Bolivian striker, Juan Berthy Suarez, was saved twice in the final minutes by Los Angeles' David Kramer.

Bruce Arena pulled double duty again March 23, when he switched fields after Washington's draw with Los Angeles, and led the U.S. Olympic team to a 1-0 triumph over the Dallas Burn.
Miles Joseph received a well-placed pass from Brian Maisonneuve at the top of the penalty box, and the future MetroStar nailed the game's only score into the right corner. Joseph was later denied by the crossbar and then thwarted on a breakaway by Burn goalie Mark Dodd, who made several spectacular saves.
