On a night that featured the international debuts of four players, old standbys Joe-Max Moore and Eric Wynalda combined for all three goals in a 3-1 U.S. win over El Salvador in an exhibition at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
Jason Kreis, one of the young stars of MLS with the Dallas Burn, and David Wagner, a German product (Schalke 04 of the Bundesliga) who holds an American passport, started for the United States, while Olympians Miles Joseph and Frankie Hejduk made second-half appearances.
MLS stars Mauricio Cienfuegos and Raul Diaz Azrce played for El Salvador in the first game since Armando Contreras took over as national team coach.
