Colorado Rapids head coach Bob Houghton announced his resignation yesterday, according to MLS. His decision is effective immediately.
Houghton, a British native who has coached throughout the world for two decades, was unable to guide the injury-plagued Rapids to the playoffs. The team's 11-20 record is the worst in MLS.
Colorado also announced that assistant coach Bruce Brown will no longer be with the team. The Rapids plan to name an interim coach (for the team's Sept. 21 season finale at D.C. United) later this week.
