Paraguay, which has opened up a commanding six-point lead in the nine-team South American World Cup qualifying group, will bring just about a full squad to the United States for exhibitions against
the United States June 4 in Fenton, Mo., and Guatemala in Los Angeles two days later. Included in the roster is controversial goalie Jose Luis Chilavert, who is currently serving a four-game ban
from World Cup qualifying that does not affect his participation in friendly games. Paraguay's Brazilian coach, Paulo Cesar Carpegiani, will use the trip as the team's final test before the Copa
America in Bolivia. Paraguay is off June 8 when the 12th round of the South American qualifying group takes place. The only first-team players who are unavailable are four Brazilian-based players:
Francisco Arce and Catalino Rivarola (Gremio) and Carlos Gamarra and Julio Enciso (Internacional Porto Alegre). Chilavert, the 1996 South American Player of the Year, scored on a free kick against
Argentina but incited a free-for-all when he attacked Colombian Faustino Asprilla in a later qualifier. The United States has called up Joe-Max Moore in place of the injured Brian McBride for the
Paraguay game, for which there will be no U.S. television. The U.S. also face Israel before it heads to El Salvador for the World Cup '98 qualifier June 29. The game is tentatively set for June 17
in Jacksonville, Fla. Here is the Paraguayan roster: Goalkeepers --
