The Netherlands has defeated the USA 2-0 in their friendly match in Miami. The Dutch added a second goal just after halftime, when they scored off of another U.S. mistake. The Americans gave away
the ball in the middle of the field in their own half, and Dutch attackers surged forward. A fine pass was made to Clarence Seedorf as he entered the area, and the Real Madrid star beat Keller with a
low shot to the left post. The U.S. had some chances to lessen the deficit, but Claudio Reyna and Joe-Max Moore just missed on free kicks, and Moore's 22-yard blast in the 55th minute was saved by
Van Der Sar. In the 71st minute, a fine through ball into the box looked to give the Americans a golden opportunity, but both Cobi Jones and Roy Lassiter went for the ball, and the distraction made
Jones' resulting shot less of a threat. The Dutch had repeated chances in the game's final minutes, but Kasey Keller made several saves to keep the score at 2-0.
