CONCACAF Champions Cup Final: D.C. United (MLS) 1 Toluca (Mexico) 0

Eddie Pope's 41st-minute goal proved to be the difference as D.C. United downed Toluca 1-0 in the final of the 1998 CONCACAF Champions Cup at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. United forward Roy Lassiter, who led all scorers with six goals, was named tournament MVP. With the win, United will play the Libertadores Cup champion in the Interamerican Cup, and could participate in a FIFA World Club competition if it is brought into existence for this year.
