Despite a terrible tragedy, the Spanish league match between Real Madrid and Recreativo Huelva is underway. Earlier in the day, a terrible crash between a large truck and a bus carrying Huelva
reporters left four dead and more than 35 injured. The Spanish soccer association said in a statement that the match would proceed as scheduled despite the appeals of several Recreativo officials, who
had asked for the match to be postponed out of respect for the victims. "We have asked for the game to be called off, it's the most logical and human thing to do," Recreativo president Francisco
Mendoza had told Spanish radio. Three Recreativo fans and the bus driver were killed as the bus traveled north to the Santiago Bernabeu from Andalucia. Some of those injured are in serious condition.
The bus collided with a transport truck blocking the highway after a separate accident.
