U.S. coach Bruce Arena has named his 20-man roster for the Feb. 6 friendly against Germany. For the first time in U.S. Soccer history, the USA's top two men's teams -- the men's national team and
U-23 national team -- will play a marquee doubleheader against their counterparts from Germany. The USA-Germany senior national team game will take place at Jacksonville's Alltel Stadium on Feb. 6 at
1 p.m. ET (live on ABC), followed by the U-23 match at 3:45 p.m. ET. Playing off a successful training 10-day training camp in January as well as a promising match in Bolivia on Jan. 24, Arena
selected 16 players who traveled with the team for the Bolivia match, one player (Carlos Llamosa) who participated in the 10-day training camp but did not travel to Bolivia, and three new selections.
"We had a good start to the year with the January camp (in Orlando) and match in Bolivia," said Arena. "By returning 16 players that went with us to Bolivia, I think we will be putting a squad on the
field that understands each other a little more and will continue to improve." The four new players joining the team include two players contracted with German clubs -- Frankie Hejduk (Bayer
Leverkusen) and Tony Sanneh (Hertha Berlin) -- as well as D.C. United's Brian Kamler and Llamosa. Kamler, 26, recieves his first call-up to the full national team. Llamosa missed the Bolivia match
while serving a one-match suspension for a red card received in the USA's 0-0 draw against Australia on Nov. 6, 1998. "Hejduk and Sanneh, in particular, will provide us with more continuity in the
attack, giving us an added dimension," said Arena. Hejduk made a name for himself during the 1998 World Cup with his tireless work on the right flank. He played extremely well in his substitute
role against Germany during France '98, nearly scoring the game-tying goal with a flashing header that was saved spectacularly by German 'keeper Andreas Koepke. Tony Sanneh only recently joined
German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin from D.C. United. Here is the U.S. roster:
