Lalas: We Could Loan Becks

In an interview with Sky Sports, L.A. Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas revealed that the club would be willing to release David Beckham on loan once the MLS season ends in November. The Daily Mail says several English clubs have already expressed interest, including Newcastle United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Blackburn and Everton. A loan return to Real Madrid is also a possibility, the report said.

Of course, anything is a possibility at this point. Certainly several big clubs would be interested in securing the England legend's services at the moment, given his current form for Real Madrid. The Mail claims a Beckham loan deal would be the only sensible thing to do, "It would be unthinkable for Beckham, if he leads Real to the title and stars for England over the next week, to spend the winter touring America as a footballing ambassador."

The report says that Galaxy coach Frank Yallop initially scoffed at suggestions of a loan, though he was later overruled by Lalas. "We would always consider any possibility that would either make the player better as a soccer player and a more valuable asset, or playing with another team on loan if we felt it made proper business sense," the Galaxy GM said.
