A lunging header, a clever
pullback to a neat finish, and a spectacular half-volley from 25-yards capped a marvelous man-of-the-match and probable player of the week performance for Olsen, whose exclusion from the U.S. national
team was made all the more conspicuous.
"It was just one of those days where I was feeling it a little bit, and it felt good," Olsen said. He had only recorded one two-goal game once in his previous 184 regular season appearances, and just eight total goals in his last three seasons. "It's been a while since I've scored that many goals. I'd have to go back to when I was 13 years old or something like that." His last two goals came from clever counterattacks after United was reduced to ten men, following Bobby Boswell's ejection for two yellow cards.
