Toronto FC's wheeling and dealing continued Wednesday when it traded Edson Buddle
to the Los Angeles Galaxy for Jamaican national team defender Tyrone Marshall
The deal came the same day MLS suspended Marshall three games and fined him $1,500 for a tackle on FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper
in the 89th minute of the Galaxy's game on June 9. Cooper's leg was broken on the play that resulted in a red card for Marshall.
32-year-old Marshall, who grew up in South Florida and attended FIU, has 59 caps for the Reggae Boyz and has played nine years in MLS. He also played for Colorado and Miami.
26-year-old Buddle goes to a Galaxy team that is desperate for help up front. It has scored only eight goals in eight games, second fewest in MLS.
Buddle will also join his fourth MLS
team. He began his career with the Columbus Crew in 2001 before being obtained by the New York Red Bulls before last season. He has scored 48 goals in six seasons but was scoreless in 10 games this
season for Toronto.
