6. U.S. WOMEN: O'Reilly heads Four Nations roster


Heather O'Reilly, the 2006 Soccer America Women's College Player of the Year, heads the 20-player U.S. women's national team roster for the 2007 Four Nations Tournament Jan. 26-30 in Guangzhou, China, against Germany, England and China.
Ryan named three uncapped players, all college freshmen, to the roster: 2006 ACC Offensive Player of the Year Yael Averbuch, 20, from the champion University of North Carolina, Lauren Cheney, 19, who scored 19 goals as a freshman at UCLA last season, and Casey Nogueira, 17, who played a major role for UNC at the 2006 Women's College Cup.

O'Reilly is one of seven holdovers from the 2004 Olympic gold-medal team picked by Coach Greg Ryan for the trip to Southern China. She is joined UNC teammates Yael Averbuch, ACC Offensive Player of the Year, and Casey Nogueira, who played a major role for UNC at the 2006 Women's College Cup.

Besides O'Reilly and Averbuch, two other 2006 Soccer America MVPs were selected for the first women's event of the year: Stephanie Lopez of Portland and India Trotter of Florida State.

Lauren Cheney, who scored 19 goals as a freshman at UCLA last season, completes the collegiate contingent.
