Boca crushes Gremio, 3-0, in first leg of Libertadores Cup final

Boca put itself in good shape to capture its sixth Libertadores Cup title when it beat Gremio of Brazil, 3-0, in the the first leg of the final on Wednesday.

Midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme, on loan from Spanish club Villarreal, was outstanding for Boca. He floated over a free kick to the far post, where Martin Palermo headed back across goal and Rodrigo Palacio tapped in for the first goal in the 18th minute.

Riquelme scored from 30 yards through the Gremio wall after a free kick was tapped to him in the 74th minute.

Pablo Ledesma added the third goal with a looping header in the 89th minute.
