L.A. Galaxy coach Frank Yallop
isn't done revamping his roster. Los Angeles acquired veteran midfielder Chris Klein
from Real Salt Lake in exchange for
rookie forward Robbie Findley
and U-20 midfielder/defender Nathan Sturgis
and signed 33-year-old Honduran international
, and Yallop is discussing options for Santino Quaranta
with several clubs.
Teams are rushing to
complete trades and other transactions before the contract guarantee date of July 1. Yallop has been noncommittal on Quaranta's play, but did say after the 3-1 loss to Dallas June 9, "It's finally
catching up to us that we weren't good enough. What I find out at this point, and I told the guys, is who actually wants to be at this club."
Pavon, who had five goals at the 2007 Gold
Cup for Honduras, spent much of his career in Mexico, where he played for Morelia, Toluca, San Luis Potosi, Correcaminos, Necaxa, Cruz Azul and Celaya. He was one of a number of Hondurans to move
to Italy in the last decade. He has played in Italy for both Udinese and Napoli from 2001-2003. Pavon had played briefly in Spain for Real Valladolid early in his career.
