Inter Out; Tevez May Stay at West Ham

Inter Milan has lost out on the signature of Carlos Tevez's after the Italian champion imposed a deadline on the Argentine to make a decision. Tevez, who is away on international duty with Argentina in the Copa America, was not prepared to make such a sudden decision. Instead, Kia Joorabchian, the West Ham player's agent, said he would prefer to stay in the Premiership. In May, the sought-after striker told reporters he was keen to join "one of Europe's big clubs," which would limit him to one of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal.

Joorabchian, however, said he's deep in talks with West Ham to keep the player. Rumors of salary demands totaling $230,000 a week have been floated around the press, although the Iranian businessman said that Tevez had not been offered that much money to stay, "but it is true we are still talking and hope to come to some arrangement."

On the other hand, the player isn't short of big club suitors. Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Inter were all strongly linked with a move for Tevez, but Inter is the only one to have ruled itself out due to its demands. The in-demand striker scored Argentina's fourth goal in a 4-1 rout of the USA.
