Six days after suffering one of the most embarrassing
losses in its 12-year history, the Los Angeles Galaxy achieved one of its greatest successes.
The Galaxy upset Mexican champion Pachuca, 2-1, in their opening game of the SuperLiga
on Tuesday and made amends for its 3-0 loss to Tigres in David Beckham
's first game with the club since his presentation.

the stands as his new MLS club held off Pachuca, winner of the 2006 Copa Sudamericana and 2007 CONCACAF Champions Cup. Alan Gordon
scored his first
