Texas A&M women favored in Big 12

Texas A&M has been picked to win the 2007 Big 12 women's championship for the fourth consecutive year in a preseason vote of league head coaches.

The Aggies received six of 11 first place votes and totaled 95 points. Texas, chosen second, received two first-place votes and 91 points, while Colorado came in third with 81 points and two first-place votes.

Texas and A&M led the all teams with four and three players, respectively, named to the All-Big 12 preseason team.

Six players who were named to the 2006 All-Big 12 First Team: defenders Stephanie Logterman (Texas) and Kasey Moore (Texas), midfielders Yolanda Odenyo (Oklahoma State) and Amy Berend (Texas A&M), and forwards Nikki Marshall (Colorado), and Kelsey Carpenter (Texas). Odenyo was the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2006 while Marshall was named Rookie of the Year.
