School Rules: Galaxy Cuts Crowd for SuperLiga

The L.A. Galaxy, set to host Mexican giant Pachuca in next week's SuperLiga final, has agreed to limit ticket sales for the midweek clash to 12,500 (less than half the stadium's capacity), in order to appease a local college. Cal State-Dominguez Hills shares its campus with the Home Depot Center and the SuperLiga final presents a conflict with its first week of classes. So, to reduce the noise, L.A. has been asked to reduce the number of fans at the game.

Galaxy GM Alexi Lalas said it was the right decision: "It's not ideal, but we have a great relationship here being on the campus and we felt like it was appropriate to recognize their concerns and try to work with them. We recognize that (CSUDH) are not in the sports entertainment business. They're in the education business. School is in session and we realize a midweek game can be disruptive."
