FC Dallas to test Revs backline

[MLS PREVIEW] They've posted the same number of wins playing vastly different styles: the Revs seldom sparkle but can split open opponents, while FC Dallas is adding South American artisans as fast as it can.

NEW ENGLAND (12-6-6) vs. FC DALLAS (12-8-3)
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET, Direct Kick

D.C. danced around New England in a 4-2 victory last weekend and if Denilson uncorks his repertoire and Juan Toja's right ankle is sufficiently healed and Arturo Alvarez straps it on, the Revs backline might be in for more of the same.

Of course, the FCD 'D' hasn't been stellar, either, so this preview of the U.S. Open Cup final (Oct. 3, mark your calendars) could be rife with chances.

Denilson has struck up a friendship with fellow Brazilian Ricardinho yet can Coach Steve Morrow facilitate that same chemistry on the field?

No players are suspended but Revs coach Steve Nicol will sit this one out after being fined and disciplined for screaming at the officials for a foul he felt they failed to call in the lead-up to United's winning goal. Assistant Paul Mariner will guide the team from the bench.

Taylor Twellman's spectacular strike was the only goal when the teams played at Pizza Hut Park May 2.
