The Wizards sit seventh in the overall standings and have conceded 37 goals, which ties them with Toronto FC and Real Salt Lake as the league's most porous defenses. The Crew
is tied for ninth with Colorado, a point behind Chicago, and has failed to win any of its last six games.
KANSAS CITY (9-9-6) vs. COLUMBUS (6-8-10)
Saturday, 8 p.m. ET, HDNet
A split of the two games and a 2-2 aggregate tie in their meetings this season belies the actual nature of those contests.
Kansas City stole a 1-0 home win on a
spectacular blast by Jose Buricaga Jr. in the final minute; Eddie Gaven and Schelotto scored five minutes apart at Crew Stadium and won, 2-1, despite a late goal by Jack Jewsbury.
Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Frankie Hejduk are suspended for accumulation of cautions.
Schelotto came off injured, after clumsily fouling Cuauhtemoc Blanco to earn a caution in the
10th minute, in a 1-0 loss to the Fire last weekend.
Without their attacking attributes in the lineup, and playing on the road, Columbus will close ranks and try to spring Alejandro
Moreno and Gaven.
Kansas City hasn't played since tying Houston, 1-1, two weeks ago after it took the lead in the final minute of the first half. It was the fourth time this season the
Wizards wound up tied after scoring the first goal; its five wins after scoring the first goal are fewest in the league except for the Galaxy and Real Salt Lake.
