USA. Portland star Stephanie Lopez started for the USA on the left side of midfield and played the entire 90 minutes in its 2-2 tie with North Korea.

CANADA. Princeton's Diana Matheson, UCLA's Kara Lang and Portland's Sophie Schmidt all started for Canada in its 2-1 loss to Norway. Florida senior Melanie Booth and North Carolina's Robin Gayle didn't play.

For Matheson, a senior, and Lang, a red-shirt sophomore, it is their second World Cup.

NEW ZEALAND. Stanford's Ali Riley and Coastal Carolina's Emma Humphries and Emily McColl all started for New Zealand in its 5-0 loss to Brazil.
