Glance of MLS Things to Come

Frank Dell'Apa reports on the New England Revolution's 2-2 tie with the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium, where the conditions were hardly conducive to high-level soccer (artificial turf making possession difficult and the football lines adding to the confusion).

The game could have been a preview of the playoffs to come, and Dell'Apa noted the Revs should have done better in wrapping up the three points. They squandered a 2-1 lead with six minutes left when a mixup between Avery John and Michael Parkhurst allowed Liberian Francis Doe to head the ball on for Juan Pablo Angel to put away the tying goal. The Red Bulls went broke, but New England was also unable to exploit the Bulls' lack of numbers in the back.
