4. WOMEN: Moves at OSU, Seton Hall and SMU

Colin Carmichael will take over as head coach of the Oklahoma State women's program with fellow co-coach Karen Hancock assuming the role of assistant coach.

"This was completely my decision," said Hancock. "I'm a single mother and the job responsibilities of a head coach take up a lot of time. At this
juncture, I think it's in my best interest to pass along those duties to Colin."

Hancock and Carmichael coached together at South Alabama before they came to Oklahoma State in 1996 with Hancock serving as head coach and Carmichael as an assistant. Prior to the 2005 season, Hancock requested that Carmichael be elevated to co-head coach.

OSU women's soccer is coming off the best season in the history of the program. The Cowgirls were 17-3-3 in 2006, finished second in the Big 12 and recorded its first-ever NCAA Tournament win with a 2-0 victory over UNC Greensboro.

SETON HALL. U.S. under-16 girls national team coach Kazbek Tambi is switching teams at Seton Hall, where he has been named women's head coach after spending the last nine seasons as an assistant men's coach.

"I am really excited about the opportunity to work with the women's program as head coach at Seton Hall University," Tambi said. "I've had
tremendous experiences as the assistant men's coach at Seton Hall, as a national team women's coach and youth club coach over several years and am thrilled to combine the knowledge that I've taken away from these roles and bring it to the women's program. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to stay at Seton Hall with this great new challenge."

Tambi, a practicing attorney in New Jersey, played for the New York Cosmos and U.S. Pan-American Games team after starring at Columbia.

SMU. The Conference USA women's champion has hired UCF men's coach Brent Erwin as its new women's coach.

Prior to taking over the UCF men's soccer program in 2005, Erwin had served as the top assistant on the SMU men's staff for five seasons. He will take over for John Cossaboon, who left SMU for a position on the Gonzaga women's staff.
