Switzerland, which hosts the USA at Basel's St. Jakob Park on Wednesday (TV: Fox Soccer Channel, Galavision, live, 2:30 pm ET), is preparing for Euro 2008, which it is co-hosting with Austria.

Coach Kobi Kuhn's team is coming off a 3-1 victory over Austria on Saturday in Zurich. The Swiss national team got two goals by FC Basel striker Marco Streller and a three-assist performance from Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta in the win, its fourth of the year.

The Swiss are unbeaten at home in three games nd split two games on trips to Florida in March and Austria in September.

Kuhn will be without Arsenal defender Phillipe Senderos and Colombian-born midfielder Johan Vonlanthen, who are injured, but he has one of Europe's top young teams with players scattered across Europe.
