Soccer America Women's Player of the Week

Sophomore Lauren Cheney, who was involved in all four Bruin goals in a pair of 2-0 Pac-10 wins over No. 2 Stanford and then-No. 14 Cal,  is Soccer America Women's Player of the Week for games played Oct. 15-21.

CHENEY PROFILE

Cheney, the Pac-10 leader in goals (16) and points (38), converted a penalty kick for the first goal against Stanford after being taken down in the box. She then fed junior Christina DiMartino for the insurance goal with 15 minutes remaining in the game.

She was even more impressive at Cal on Sunday, scoring both UCLA goals.

Cheney has tallied either a goal or an assist in 11 of 14 matches this season and leads the Bruins in game-winning goals with five.

She is the first player to be named Player of the Week twice this season.
