No. 17 Northwestern was 89 seconds away
from escaping from Northern Illinois with a victory Wednesday afternoon, but Marcus McCarty
had other ideas.
McCarty netted the tying goal and then
tallied the game-winner in the second overtime to give the Huskies a 2-1 win over the Wildcats.
Northwestern, who fell to 9-3-2, had led on Matt Witt
goal in the 63rd minute.
