McKendree and Southern Nazarene pull upsets in first round

The NAIA Women's National Championships produced two upsets on the first day of play. No. 17 McKendree and No. 18 Southern Nazarene both advanced to Thursday's second round with wins over higher seeds. Host Embry-Riddle, the No. 20 seed in the 20-team field, fell to Kansas Wesleyan, 2-0.
