Azusa Pacific beats rival to win first NAIA men's title

[CHAMPIONSHIP] Sven Simon scored one goal and set up another to lead top seeded Azusa Pacific to its first NAIA men's national championship with a 2-0 win over Southern California rival Concordia on Tuesday night in Olathe, Kan.

The Cougars peppered Concordia with 28 shots and got goals by Simon in the 42nd minute and Ashkon Banihashemi in the 72nd.

APU won after losing in the last two finals. It lost, 2-1, to Martin Methodist in Tuesday's women's final.
