Martin Methodist take second NAIA women's title

[CHAMPIONSHIP] Fifth-seeded Martin Methodist captured the program's second NAIA national title in three seasons with a 2-1 win over No. 3 Azusa Pacific Tuesday night at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium in Daytona, Beach, Fla.

Shannon Walter scored in the sixth minute for the RedHawks and set up Clare Sykes for the winner in the 34th minute after Azusa Pacific had tied the score on Sarah Yoro's 13th goal of the season.

Azusa Pacific also lost, 2-1, to Lindsey Wilson in the 2006 final. The Cougars beat Lindsey Wilson, 2-1, in Monday's semifinal.
