, who led Clemson to the quarterfinals of the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Tournament, has been named the head women's coach at Alabama.
Bramble spent the last seven seasons as the Clemson head coach, taking the Lady Tigers to the NCAA Tournament every season They reached the NCAA Sweet 16 twice. Bramble had an
80-51-17 overall record and did not have a losing season at Clemson.
Bramble served as the top assistant under Clemson head men's coach Trevor
from 1995-99. Prior to being an assistant men's coach at Clemson, Bramble also served under Adair as an assistant at Brown.
Prior to returning to Clemson as the head
women's coach, Bramble was the head coach of the men's program at Butler University for the 2000 season.
Bramble replaces Don Staley
resigned after 14 years as the Tide's only soccer coach since the SEC began soccer in 1994.
"I look forward to meeting with the team and figuring out how we can build this program into a
source of pride for the Alabama community as quickly as possible,"said Bramble. "I'm sure I will discover that many of the qualities that Coach Staley has instilled in the players will allow us to
be successful in a short period of time."
