U.S. wide midfielder DaMarcus Beasley
will be sidelined for four to six months after undergoing surgery on his right knee, injured Nov. 27 in a collision with VfB Stuttgart keeper Raphael Schaefer. Beasley, who scored four goals
in 19 games for Glasgow Rangers in all competitions since joining the Scottish power last summer, has 73 U.S. caps and 15 goals.
Beasley, 25, will aim to return in time for the USA's
first 2010 World Cup qualifying games in June.
Beasley, who played in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, made 12 appearances for the USA in 2007.
The Indiana product has been
playing in Europe since joining Dutch club PSV Eindhoven from the Chicago Fire in 2004. He played for English Premier League club Manchester City in 2006-07 before joining Rangers.
