The Los Angeles Galaxy may be close to securing the signature of Poland captain Maciej Zurawski. Despite playing a major role in the Pole's qualification for Euro 2008, the 31-year-old striker has
been rotting on the bench at Glasgow Celtic this season. According to American Soccer Daily, his agent Jerzy Kopiec is in L.A. now discussing a two-year deal.
"The offer from
Galaxy is very serious," Kopiec said in an interview with Britain's Daily Mail. "They are really determined to sign Maciej and treat him as a big star." Zurawski, who is called "Magic" in Poland, is
now in his third season at Parkhead, having scored 30 goals for the Hoops, but he's only made seven appearances so far this season, all from the substitutes' bench.
"The transfer window
will open very soon and we will see what happens," Zurawski said. "Right now, I will not say anything because nothing is sure yet. If I was to switch to the United States, then I hope there would
not be a problem traveling back for national games."
