Armas: Osorio Can Help Red Bulls Succeed

Fire staff, players and coaches can feel hard done by now that former coach Juan Carlos Osorio has traded the Chicago for New York. Osorio lasted little more than six months in the Windy City before the Red Bulls gave him a more lucrative offer. You'd expect most Chicagoans to be left with a bitter feeling, but at least man is offering the Colombian his support: former Fire captain Chris Armas.

Of course, Armas, an integral part of the Fire's run to the Eastern Conference final last season, has now retired, so perhaps he can look at the turn of events with a more objective eye. "He's a good coach," the former Fire midfielder told Big Apple Soccer. "In our situation, he was able to get a lot out of the group. He is someone who works hard and takes a lot of pride in his job."

Osorio brings a defensive, hard-working approach to games, something the Bulls leaky backline could benefit from. Throw in an offensive weapon like Juan Pablo Angel and "it's a good fit," adds Armas. "I wouldn't be surprised if [the Red Bulls] do well this year."
