Soccer America Men's MVPs

Joseph Lapira, the 2006 Soccer America Men's Player of the Year, is lone holdover from the 2006 MVPs to be selected to the 2007 first team.

Two players each from national champion Wake Forest (central midfield duo Pat Phelan and Sam Cronin) and Connecticut (Julius James and O'Brian White) were also named to the first team,

Other 2007 Men's College Cup participants on the 2007 team include goalie Zack Simmons (Massachusetts), Xavier Balc (Ohio State) and Patrick Nyarko (Virginia Tech).

Andre Akpan (Harvard), Alejandro Bedoya (Boston College) and Peter Lowry (Santa Clara) round out the first team.

This marks the first year since Soccer America introduced the MVP awards in 1976 that it has selected a first and second team. Members of the second team include 2006 MVPs Andy Iro (UC Santa Barbara) and David Roth (Northwestern).
