Ecuador's referees reacted to a measure banning strikes by referees - by going on strike.
The referees agreed on Tuesday not to work in "any
friendly game, official game or any of the various categories of Ecuadorian soccer, until the ruling that harms this institution is repealed."
Club directors and the nation's soccer
federation on Friday passed the rule that said "any referee that goes on strike, abandoning a game after it has been properly scheduled by the FEF will be struck from roll."
