English Premier League Managerial Casualties, 2007-08

[MAKING A LIST] Newcastle United's Sam Allardyce became the eighth English Premier League manager to leave this season when he left by "mutual consent" only six months into his tenure with the Magpies. Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp was the favorite to replace Allardyce.

Sept. 20: Jose Mourinho (Chelsea), replaced by Avram Grant (director of football)
Oct. 17: Sammy Lee (Bolton Wanderers), replaced by Gary Megson (Leicester City manager)
Oct. 25: Martin Jol (Tottenham), replaced by Juande Ramos (Sevilla coach)
Nov. 5: Chris Hutchings (Wigan Athletic), replaced by Steve Bruce (Birmingham City manager)
Nov. 23: Steve Bruce (Birmingham City), replaced by Alex McLeish (Scotland coach)
Nov. 26: Billy Davies (Derby County), replaced by Paul Jewell
Dec. 21: Lawrie Sanchez (Fulham) replaced by Roy Hodgson.
Jan. 9: Sam Allardyce (Newcastle United) replaced by interim manager Nigel Pearson (assistant).
