Chelsea finally gotten its man: Frenchman Nicolas Anelka has completed his transfer from Bolton in a deal worth between $27 and $30 million, according to various reports. Bolton had already rejected
Chelsea's first offer on Monday, but agreed to sell the striker on Friday after receiving an improved bid. The Blues were desperate to find reinforcements in the absence of Didier Drogba and
Solomon Kalou, who are both on duty with the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations.
The oft-unsettled Anelka, who signed a four-and-a half-year deal, has seen his
value rise and fall throughout the years. The 28-year-old forward has played for Paris St. Germain, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Fenerbahce, Bolton and now, Chelsea. Anelka had
only just signed a new four-year contract at Bolton in August. He has scored 11 times this season.
