Soccer365 talks to U.S. international Heath Pearce, left back of the Denmark-based club Nordsjaelland, about his plans for the future now that his contract expires at the end of the season. Because
he plays in a league with next to no visibility in the US., Pearce understands that he's at a disadvantage when it comes to national team selection. That lack of familiarity can be a positive too,
he adds, because it gives him a fresh opportunity to impress the coach without any prior judgments. He played in the USA's 3-1 win over Denmark but wasn't selected for the U.S. squad that recently
beat Mexico, 2-0, in Glendale, Ariz. The competition for left back has become increasingly crowded with Jonathan Bornstein and Pearce now vying for the spot, a good thing, of course, for national team
coach Bob Bradley.
Right now, Pearce says he's in the process of searching for an agent, so he hasn't set his sights on anywhere for the future quite yet. Pearce says he wouldn't rule out a
move to MLS, although he indicates that a long-term move to Europe, preferably to Germany or the Netherlands, is his preferred choice. "I feel this next step in my career is very crucial for my
development so I am being patient with agent selections as well as club selections."
