The Chinese commentator famous for throwing expletives at the Australian team as Italy converted its last-minute penalty to send them home, could be headed for a sacking, the Age reports. Huang
Jianxiang shouted things like "long live Italy" and "I don't like the Australian team" after Francesco Totti put in Italy's penalty to advance to the quarterfinals. Later, Huang, one of China's most
popular and knowledgeable soccer commentators, dismissed the Australians as being European imports. It's unclear whether his employer, CCTV China's national network, has fired him or not; Huang has
not been on the air since the incident Monday. Executives at the network told the Chinese media he was guilty of a "political" mistake. Prior to the France-Spain game, which he was supposed to call,
the station read an apology from Huang.
