1. Arizona State's Leone takes Harvard women's job

The coaching musical chairs that began when Dean Duerst stepped down as Wisconsin women's coach continued as Ray Leone has left Arizona State to become the head women's coach at Harvard.

Leone, 24th among active head coaches in NCAA Division I history with 192 victories, succeeds Erica Walsh, who left the Crimson after less than a year in Cambridge to replace Paula Wilkins, who took Duerst's post at Wisconsin.

Leone spent six years at ASU, posting a 60-45-4 record and leading the Sun Devils to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances. Prior to that, Leone coached at Clemson (1994-2000), Creighton (1989-93) and Berry (1986-87). In 1986, he became the first and only coach in collegiate soccer history to take a first-year program to a national championship game. The next season, Leone's Berry team won the NAIA national championship.

Harvard has one of the oldest women's soccer programs in the country. The Crimson won the first Ivy League championship in 1978.
