Newcastle's poor run under Keegan continues

[ENGLAND] Michael Owen's second-half goal gave Newcastle United a 1-1 tie at Birmingham City, but it left Manager Kevin Keegan still without a win in eight Premier League matches since rejoining the Magpies.

Monday's clash had relegation implications. The tie lifted Newcastle one spot to 14th with 29 points, while Birmingham rose from 17th to 16th with 27 points.

Both clubs find themselves in trouble because of their horrendous form since the beginning of the New Year.

Newcastle went into the game having suffered four successive defeats and 12 league matches without a win since beating Fulham in mid-December.

Birmingham had only one win in its previous 10 league matches

The bottom three consist of Bolton Wanderers (25 points), Fulham (23) and Derby County (10).
