Texas team knocks off defending champion Sao Paulo

[DALLAS CUP] Andromeda, the lone American entrant in this year's Super Group at the Dallas Cup created a sensation on Sunday when it knocked off defending champion Sao Paulo of Brazil, 5-2, on the opening day of play at the famed international soccer tournament.

Collin O'Donnell led Andromeda with two goals, while Lucas Joyner, Ben Grafentin and Jason Guehler also scored.

Formed in 1980, Andromeda won the 2007 U.S. Youth Soccer U-17 national championship and qualified to play in the Dallas Cup by winning the Chamber Classic Soccer Alliance's U-19 Division I fall season.

Andromeda fell to England's Leicester City, 1-0, on Monday. It has to beat Monterrey, winner of its first two games, on Wednesday to have a chance to reach the semifinals.

Liverpool and Benfica lead Groups B and C, respectively, with a pair of wins.
