El Tri emerged victorious against Ghana on Wednesday, but some still think Mexico coach Hugo Sanchez should head for the exit. Goal.com's Sergio Tristan says the 2-1 win overshadowed another tepid
performance, and the Mexican fans' attitude towards Sanchez best be summed up by a sign in the stands that read "Hugo, La Ultima y Nos Vamos" ("Hugo, one more and we're out").
just the poor performance against Ghana, but also the U-23 national team's failure to qualify for this summer's Olympics, and before that, the failure to beat the United States on American soil for
a third time that has many in Mexico praying for Sanchez to get the sack. "Most of us admire Hugo for all his accomplishments as a player, but unfortunately he could not -- and most likely never
will -- duplicate them as a coach," Tristan said.
Meanwhile, Tristan hears the Mexican coach has outsourced the team's tactical training to his assistants, barely participating in
practices at all. And when it comes to supplying motivation, he says Sanchez likes to pop in old videos of himself scoring goals.
