Maisonneuve leaves U-17 residency for Louisville post

Former U.S. World Cup player Brian Maisonneuve is leaving the U.S. U-17 residency program, where he has worked since 2005, to become an assistant on the University of Louisville's men's staff headed by Ken Lolla.

Louisville is considered one of the up-and-coming major men's programs. The Cardinals reached the NCAA Division I Tournament in 2007.

Maisonneuve replaces former assistant BJ Craig, who left for a similar position at Notre Dame. He played for the U.S. national team for six years (1997-2002) and represented the USA at the 1998 World Cup in France. He played in the MLS for the Columbus
Crew (1996-2004) after starring at Indiana University.
