What We're Reading

Bullard Issues Fulham Rallying Cry

Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard believes that victory away to Manchester City Saturday could take the Premiership relegation battle to the final day as fellow relegation fighter Birmingham City should be beatable at Craven Cottage next week. "This is a big opportunity. We've still got Birmingham to play which is a big bonus in our situation. So we've got to make sure that we keep ourselves in the chase. We've just got to get something from the game because if other results don't go our way we could be down."

Fulham, which employs five American players -- more than any other club in a top-flight European league -- is currently 19th place in the EPL table with 27 points, five adrift of 17th-place Reading with 32. "I know I speak for the players when I say I'm tired of not getting the results on the pitch," Bullard said. "We're running out of games and even though it could still come down to the last two games if everyone loses this week, we don't want to be doing it that way."

One worry for Fulham Saturday is that Birmingham hosts Liverpool, which will undoubtedly field a weakened team as the Reds rest their stars ahead of Wednesday's return leg in the Champions League semifinal against Chelsea.
